Corrections Policy

ECCStudy is committed to accuracy. When we make errors — and we will — we correct them quickly, transparently, and without minimisation.

Our Commitment

Educational misinformation can have real consequences for students and families: missed application deadlines, incorrect preparation, wasted fees. We take this responsibility seriously. Accuracy is the foundation of our editorial mission, and corrections are part of maintaining that standard — not an admission of failure.

Types of Corrections

Minor Corrections

Typographical errors, grammatical mistakes, or broken links are corrected without formal notification. The article's "Last Updated" date is updated to reflect the change.

Factual Corrections

If factual information — an exam date, a fee amount, an eligibility requirement, a scholarship amount — was incorrect and has been corrected, we note the correction visibly at the top of the affected article. The note specifies:

  • What information was incorrect
  • What the correct information is
  • When the correction was made

We do not silently overwrite incorrect information. The correction notice remains on the article permanently.

Significant Errors

If an article contained a significant error that may have materially misled readers — for example, a wrong application deadline that could have caused students to miss an exam — we take additional steps:

  • A prominent correction banner is displayed at the top of the article
  • If we have a subscriber newsletter, an alert is sent to subscribers who may have acted on the information
  • The nature of the error is described clearly and without euphemism

How to Report an Error

If you believe any information on ECCStudy is inaccurate, outdated, or misleading, please contact us:

Please include:

  • The URL of the article containing the error
  • The specific information you believe is incorrect
  • The correct information, with a link to the official source if possible

Our Process

  • All correction requests are reviewed by an editor within 24 hours of receipt
  • If the reported information is confirmed incorrect, the correction is published within 2 hours of confirmation
  • We respond to all correction requests to confirm action taken
  • We do not publish corrections that are matters of opinion or interpretation — only factual errors

Contested Information

Occasionally, official guidance is ambiguous or contradictory across different government sources. In such cases, we:

  • Present the available information from each source
  • Note the ambiguity explicitly
  • Advise readers to contact the relevant authority directly for definitive guidance
  • Update the article when official clarification is issued
