CUET AdmissionsJEE & NEET AdmissionsDocument Requirements

Navigating university admissions in India requires understanding multiple parallel processes — CUET for central universities, JoSAA counselling for IITs and NITs, MCC counselling for medical seats, and state-level processes for each state's institutions. Our admissions coverage maps the entire landscape: which entrance exam leads to which college, what documents you need, how counselling rounds work, and how to maximise your admission chances across multiple institutions simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CUET and who needs to appear?

CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is the mandatory entrance examination for all 45 central universities in India, including Delhi University, JNU, BHU, and Hyderabad Central University. Students seeking admission to undergraduate programmes at these institutions must appear in CUET regardless of their Class 12 scores.

When does the university admission season begin?

Admission season typically runs from June to September each year. CUET scores are released in July, followed by university-specific admission processes. JoSAA counselling for IITs/NITs begins in July. State university admissions vary by state, running through August–October.

How many preferences should I fill in JoSAA?

Fill as many preferences as possible — candidates routinely fill 100+ preferences in JoSAA at no extra cost. This maximises your chances of getting an allocation. Preferences can be changed in later rounds to upgrade if a better option becomes available.

Can NIOS students apply for CUET and JEE?

Yes. NIOS Class 12 certificates are accepted for CUET, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and all national entrance examinations. NTA has officially confirmed NIOS eligibility. You must meet the subject-specific eligibility criteria (e.g., PCM for JEE).
